This Post shows how to design and build a compact modified sine wave inverter that has all the necessary safety features to ensure stable and long operation. Because the inverter is software controlled, many other functions and voltage inputs can be enabled. One unique thing about this inverter is that it contains a tap changer, which makes it possible to switch taps to suit different input and output voltages, such as an inverter with a selectable output voltage of 110 or 220V.
