Description

The equation for the switching frequency for the L4978 given on page 3 of the AN1061 Applications note:

DESIGNING WITH L4978, 2A HIGH EFFICIENCY DC-DC CONVERTERY

is wrong.

The notes in this analysis derive an exact equation and a close approximation that should be accurate enough for most applications.

A behavioural simulation of the oscillator section is also given. To run this simulation, click on the 'Open in Editor' button then do CTRL+R.
