Convergence and No Such Vector Errors Simulating Basic Astable 555

My basic astable 555 circuit: [Basic Astable 555][1] Produces both the "Too many iterations without convergence" and the "Error(parse.c--checkvalid): square: no such vector" error. Both errors are a mystery to me, especially the no such vector error. Any help appreciated. The problem is that the 555 timer is stuck in a state where it is not starting up properly. Thanks for pointing me to that article! I used: .model X100U capacitor(C=100U IC=0) to initial the voltage across the cap to zero. Now I have a different problem, which I'll post as a new topic. BTW, the instructions says to change the cap prefix from M to A, but when I went in there to make the change, the cap prefix was C, not M. Is this a typo in the instructions?
