Hi! A little question. When I order assembly, does it cost extra to have the USB connector
on the frontside of the PCB, while having all the other parts on the backside?
Best regards, ClaudioEasyEDA
Hi ClaudioEasyEDA,
Welcome to EasyEDA.
Yes, this is possible.
If the USB connector is through hole (TH) and the other components are surface mount (SMD) then you would normally expect the USB connector to be assembled on the front/top side and everything else to be on the back/bottom side.
If the USB connector is not the only TH part and there is a mix of TH and SMD parts on one or both sides then you may need to add some notes in the `Remark` box to make this clear when you order the PCBA.
Having mixed TH and SMD on one or both sides of the PCBA may increase the cost a little but Support will email you with a quote anyway.
Hi Andryfierman! Thanks, as I understand you, assembly with several SMT parts on backside of PCB, and one single SMT Connector on frontside will cost a little extra. I assume the extra cost will be about 1-5€ per board. Best regards, Claudio
Hi Claudio,
You can always do the PCB design then add some notes in the `Remark` box on the PCB order page, submit it and see what Support come back with.
You are under no obligation to place the order until you accept the quote.
