## Description

How to simulate a tapped inductor in EasyEDA.

For a general tapped inductor with a single N:1 tap ratio, place two inductors, L1 and L2 and make their value as {L1val} and {L2val}.

Place a coupling directive in the form of:

K1 L1 L2 1

(with the 'Text type = spice' set in the right hand properties panel).

Then set the total inductance, for example

``myindval``

and a tap ratio of say

``mytapratio:1``

using a parameter statement:

.param Ltotal = myindval

• N = mytapratio

then define the inductance each side of the tap using these expressions:

.param L1val = {Ltotal*(N/(N+1))**2}

• L2val = {Ltotal*(1/(N+1))**2}

The square terms arise because the inductance is proportional to the turns ratio.

The N/(N+1) and 1/(N+1) terms are because both inductances are on the same core.
