A RC2014-compatible Z80 computer using only parts that would have been available (and affordable) in 1979. The purpose of this project is to learn not only how an 8-bit computer system works, but to do so as if I were a poor hobbyist in the late 70s. While I will be using modern equivalents to old chips (i.e. 5V EEPROM instead of high voltage EPROM), the modern chips must be pin-compatible with their ancestors. The goal is to keep it under $300 in 1979 dollars, or at least as close as I can get.
