I was in need of a quick ws2812 driver with esp8266 mod. works for me, but still many bugs! fixed in the schema: - IO02 was pull-up, not down - decoupling with condensators was not sufficient - still not fixed:chosen output pins not DMA-able however, works for me. simple firmware included. - download and install Visual Studio Code (https://code.visualstudio.com/) - in VSCode, install and enable the "Platform IO" extension in the extensions tab (https://platformio.org/) - open the folder of the firmware sourcecode - connect the board with a serial cable (ground, tx, rx) - add 5V power on the main power plug - hold FLASH button and trigger RESET button once, let both go to have the module in FLASH mode - compile and upload - done In default mode the module acts as AP wifi station, you can connect to the network "blinkenlights". Press FLASH button while it's running to cycle between color programs. -
