Description
# 4 MHz to 1 PPS Oscillator # This is a small crystal oscillator board that uses a 4 Meg crystal and divides it by 4, then 100, then 100, then 100 again. It gives you ouputs of 1 MHz, 100 Khz, 10 Khz, and 1 Hz. It can be used as a frequency standard for many projects. The power supply is the common LM2596 Buck convertor adjusted to 5 VDC. The outputs are all 5 V peak to peak and there is an LED on the board to indicate the I Hz or 1 Pulse per second. Input voltage is any AC transformer of 9 to 24 VAC Max. The power supply can provide power for extra projects. It was inspired by a YouTube project on Mr Carlsons Lab channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tb1-EF_F2Rkbut) but I designed and laid out the board and built several. You can use the trimmer capacitor to get it to exactly 4.0 Mhz but depending on the components, it may drift slightly with time or temperature.
