EASYEDA Privacy Policy
Welcome to EasyEDA!
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to personal data collected through our products, websites, applications, other online services and your use of all services of EasyEDA as a user and other services which include a link to this Policy (e.g. customer support) (collectively, the "Services"). This Policy also summarizes when and how your personal data is collected, used, safeguarded and disclosed in connection with your use of the Services. It also describes your rights and available choices regarding your personal data.
Data Controller: JiaLiChuang (HongKong) Co., Limited ("we", “us”, or “our”) is the data controller (or similar term under applicable laws) of any data processed in connection with this Policy.
Our Services can be accessible to users across various locations including in jurisdictions which have specific privacy requirements. We process your personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so under applicable laws. By using our Services and providing us with data, you consent to the collecting, storing, transferring, processing and sharing of your data in the manner described in this Policy. Below you will find details about the personal data we collect about you when you use our Services or interact with us; how and why we collect it, how we use it, and how we keep it in secure.
I. What personal data we collect
1.data provided by you
When you register an account with EasyEDA, you may provide your IP address, username, email address and a password to complete the account registration. We maintain your username, email address and password in a secure manner and only use your data for account Login, authentication, and security purposes.
When you set up your personal user center, you may choose to provide data such as your nickname, avatar, location, company, school, personal website, career, education level, skills, and your personal description. Your nickname and avatar are public by default; Other details are shown only if you opt-to display them (e.g. on your OSHWLab homepage). You can change this setting at any time through the personal data disclosure control.
When you submit comments, respond to existing comments, or send private messages (text or images) to users you follow, we collect the content you create and share in those interactions. This data is collected to enable user communication features.
When you create or upload content using our website and editor, you may provide materials such as your projects (including schematics, PCBs, covers, attachments), libraries, modules, Gerber files, BOMs (Bills of Materials), articles, posts and other creative materials. We process this data to publish and showcase your opensource hardware works, design cases, and solutions, and to facilitate related sharing, communication, and collaboration among users.
We collect and process certain data when you apply for specific EasyEDA programs.
You may provide the name of your academic institution, your full name, and proof of educator status demonstrating your teaching qualification, employment status and current academic year (a school ID card, school employment certificate, or K12 teaching certification). This data is used solely to verify your eligibility and grant your access to the Educational Edition, and will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil these purposes, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
When using the Educational Edition services, you may voluntarily choose to submit student names and student ID numbers to facilitate class member management. You must ensure that you have obtained explicit authorization or valid consent from the relevant data subjects before submitting their personal data, and that the data you provide is accurate and lawful.
You may provide your name, country or region, school name, official school website URL, major, grade, and a written statement describing your reasons for applying and relevant advantages. We may also request a copy or photo of your student ID card (excluding the cover) as proof of your current student status. This data is used solely to review your application and verify your student status, and will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil these purposes, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
When you take part in any of our promotions, competitions, surveys or questionnaires about EasyEDA’s services, or you engage with us through social media, you may provide data to us, or we may receive data about you. This may include your name, contact details (such as address, phone number or email address), records of emails and other digital communications (including any links in them that you access and whether you have opened the communications), your feedback and contributions to customer surveys and questionnaires, and any data specific to the event.
We may send you relevant offers and news about our products and services in various ways including by email, but only if you have previously agreed to receive these marketing communications. When you register with us we will ask whether you wish to receive marketing communications, and you can change your marketing preferences at anytime online, by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any marketing email, over the phone or in writing.
You may contact us and provide feedback at any time via email, other available channels,or contacting customer service online. We may use your feedback to improve our Services, and, where appropriate, publish it (online or offline) to facilitate our business and services. Meanwhile, when you contact customer services, you may provide your full name, email address and details so that we can give you a reply.
2.data we collect automatically
When you use our Services, we may automatically collect data about your activity on the Services, This may include details about how you use them (such as browser type, language preference, operation system type, editor version, date and time you logged in and logged out, features you use, usage duration, operational order, order type, execution time, execution status, and word count of prompt message, etc.), as well as records of your interactions on the platform, including following or unfollowing of other users and team management actions. We may also collect records of your engagement activities, such as likes, favorites, and shares. In addition, we may collect records of your platform points accumulation and related redemption activities.
We will, based on your specific operation during your visit and / or use, receive and record the relevant data of the device you use (including device ID, operating system version, IP address, system environment and parameters, device status, and other software and hardware feature data), device identifiers (where applicable), network status data, WIFI data and device location data (which may be inferred from your IP address).
3.data from third party sources
We may obtain data about you from other sources, including from third party services and organizations. For example, when you log in to EasyEDA through a supported thirdparty account, we may collect your account data from that service (such as registered email address, language preference, username, and email verification data) for the purpose of user identity verification.
4.No special categories of data
We do not request or intend to collect any “special categories of data”, such as any data on health, race, religion, political opinions or philosophical beliefs, sexual preferences or orientation. We also want to kindly remind you to be cautious when sharing this data about yourself (or others) in our Services.
If you choose to use other services not covered by the foregoing terms, for which we need to collect your data, we will seek your prior consent. We will use, store, disclose and protect your data in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Policy and the corresponding Terms & Conditions. Your refusal to provide the aforesaid data may prevent you from using a particular or part of the Services, but it will not affect your use of other services provided by us.

III.Legal Basis And How We Use Your Personal data
We will only use your data when we have justifications (each called a "legal basis") under data protection law. To process your data as described in this Privacy Policy, we rely on the following legal basis which involve contractual necessity, legitimate interests, consent, compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
1.Contractual Necessity
We process your personal data where it is necessary to enter into and/or perform a contract with you. This includes:
(1)Administering your account and providing the Services you have requested;
(2) Understanding, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to ensure the Services function as agreed;
(3) Communicating with you regarding the Services, including fulfilling your specific requests, providing updates, and responding to your inquiries via different channels (e.g., phone, email, chat).
2.Legitimate interests
We may process your personal data where such processing is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests. We do not use your personal data on the basis of legitimate interests for activities where individuals’ interests override our interests:
(1) Improving our Services and developing new features and offerings;
(2) Conducting research, analysis, and development activities to enhance our products and services;
(3) Conducting customer satisfaction surveys;
(4) Sending you non-personalised data or promotional materials about products, services, events, and offers we think may be of interest to you;
(5) Preventing unauthorized access or modifications to our systems;
(6) Maintaining the security and integrity of our Services and networks;
(7) Engaging in business transactions with third parties, such as mergers, acquisitions, sale of assets, audits of our business practices and financials;
(8)Protecting the confidentiality of commercially sensitive data.
3.Consent
We may rely on your consent as a legal basis for processing personal data where required by applicable laws, including but not limited to the use of certain Cookies or similar technologies, and processing data that may be considered “special” or “sensitive” in certain jurisdictions where no other legal basis applies. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
4.Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
We may process your personal data where such processing is necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation to which we are subject under applicable law. This may include:
(1)Complying with statutory requirements under applicable binding local laws or regulations, or other binding legal instruments in relevant jurisdictions;
(2)Responding to lawful requests, court orders, or other legal processes from competent authorities;
(3)Providing data to regulatory bodies in connection with legally mandated audits, inspections, or investigations;
(4)Meeting obligations under industry-specific regulations or professional rules, for example, health and safety regulations applicable to our operations;
(5)Implementing security measures where such measures are expressly required by applicable law to protect our systems and data.
We will only process personal data under this legal basis where the relevant obligation is clearly established in the applicable laws or regulations.
IV. How We Share Your Personal data
1.Sharing with your consent:
Where you have given us your freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent, we may share the personal data you have authorised with third parties designated by you.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. Withdrawal can be exercised via the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy.
2.Sharing under statutory circumstances
We may share your personal data in accordance with laws and regulations, litigation resolution requirements, or legal requirements of administrative and judicial authorities.
3.Sharing with our affiliates
To provide you with timely service, your personal data may be shared with our affiliated companies. For example, EasyEDA, JLCPCB and LCSC all belong to affiliated companies of a group company. For examples, if you order products like PCBs at JLCPCB.com, we will share the necessary order data with JLCPCB, who may contact you to complete the delivery service of your orders. We will only share your data within our affiliated companies for legitimate and explicit purposes, and only share the data necessary to provide the Services, and are bound by the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy. If a purpose concerned is not included in this Privacy Policy, we will state it in the corresponding notice of the specific services.
4.Sharing with business partners
We may share the necessary personal data with authorized third-party partners (including technical service providers, data storage service providers, after-sales service providers, marketing and promotion service providers, third-party SDK service providers, etc.) for the performance of certain features or to provide you with better service and a better user experience. Such sharing will be limited to the minimum data necessary for such purposes, and will be carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
These partners are subject to contractual obligations of confidentiality and data protection and may act:
(1)As processors on our behalf (processing personal data only under our instructions, solely for the specified purposes, and not using such data for any other purposes);
(2)As independent data controllers (processing personal data for their own lawful purposes, in which case they will provide you with their own privacy notices).
To provide evaluation, analysis or other lawful business services, we may also share your aggregated, de-identified or other anonymous data records with third parties. For example, we may use aggregated data to help partners (e.g., advertising service providers) understand the effectiveness, feedback and usage trends of their services.
5.Data transferring for a merger, acquisition or other related transaction
In the event of a merger, acquisition or bankruptcy liquidation, asset transfer and other related transaction, if a personal data transfer is involved, we will require the new entity or organization holding your personal data to continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy through an agreement or other appropriate measures, and we will require such subject to take confidentiality and security measures of a degree no less than the requirements of this Privacy Policy to process personal data. We will notify you before transferring the personal data, and you have the option to decide not to be transferred.

At present, we do not have an automated process to notify third parties to synchronously delete user data. Upon your deletion request, we will first erase the data from our systems and, where feasible, manually notify key partners to assist with the deletion.

V.Cross-Border Data Transfers
We primarily store your personal data on secure servers located in Frankfurt, Germany.
Where personal data is transferred to a country or region with different data protection laws than those of your location, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that such transfers are carried out in compliance with applicable data protection requirements and that your data continues to receive a level of protection consistent with this Privacy Policy. These steps may include:
(1)Assessing the legal framework and practices of the destination jurisdiction to identify any potential risks to your data;
(2)Applying contractual, organizational and technical safeguards such as internationally recognized data transfer agreements and encryption measures to maintain equivalent protection standards;
(3)Providing, upon request and subject to applicable law, details of the safeguards in place for the relevant transfer.
We apply these measures to all cross-border transfers, regardless of the origin of the personal data, to ensure secure and lawful processing across all regions in which we operate.
VI. Your Rights

In certain circumstances (including where data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests or for the purposes of marketing) you may object to that processing.
There are several rights in this area where processing carried out on a solely automated basis results in a decision which has legal or significant effects for the individual. In these circumstances your rights include the right to ensure that there is human intervention in the decision-making process.
The particular rights which are applicable to you (which might include other rights not listed above) may vary depending on your country. You should make yourself aware of the rights you have under applicable privacy laws in your country.
You can access and edit most of your profile data by signing into EasyEDA, and if you want to exercise any of your rights listed above, you can also contact our Data Protection Officer. For your protection and the protection of all of our users, we may need to request specific data from you to help us confirm your identity before we can deal with your request.
We will respond to your request within one month. Where requests are complex or numerous, we may extend this period by up to two additional months, and will inform you of the extension and the reasons. If we decline your request, we will provide the reason and information on how you can lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
Please note that, due to technical limitations, the implementation of certain rights (including notifying all third parties to delete data) may not be fully achievable at this time. We will, however, endeavour to assist and comply to the extent possible within our existing technical and operational capabilities.
VII.Protection of Personal data
1.Data security and technical measures
EasyEDA takes the security of your personal data very seriously. We protect all data generated by and provided to us by our users from being stolen, compromised, or used in violation with this policy. We ensure that users’ data is only used for providing service for users.
We promise to take the following responsibilities for protecting users' data:
(1) We work to protect the security of your personal data during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology.
(2) We use third-party payment processors that are fully PCI-DSS compliant to ensure that your payment data is handled securely.
(3) We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to guard and prevent misuse of your personal data. Our security measures include industry-standard physical, technical and administrative measures to prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of your data, to maintain data accuracy, to ensure the appropriate use of data, and otherwise safeguard your personal data. We restrict access to your non-public personal data to those employees and third parties who need such data to provide products or Services.
You should be aware, however, that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of your data and are constantly reviewing and enhancing our data security measures. You are also advised to exercise caution with respect to the sharing of your personal data and your authentication / security details (such as passwords, credit card details, transaction details) outside of our Platform / Services.
2.Guarantee of cooperation agreement with a third party
Before we share your personal data with other third parties, we will strictly require them to assume data protection obligations and responsibilities. To this end, we may require the third party to sign a data processing agreement or include provisions for data protection in the cooperation agreement signed by both parties prior to the cooperation. The agreement strictly stipulates the confidentiality obligations of the third party with respect to user data, including the storage, use and flow of data, which shall meet our control requirements and be subject to our review, supervision and audit, and in case of any breach, we will hold the other party liable for the corresponding legal responsibility.
3.Personal information security incidents
In case of an unfortunate personal data security incident, we will initiate emergency plans and remedial measures to prevent the incident from expanding. In addition, in accordance with the requirements of laws and regulations, we will timely inform users of the basic data and the possible impact of security incidents, the measures we have taken or will take to deal with them, the suggestions users can independently prevent and reduce risks, and the remedial measures for users. We will timely inform users of the relevant data of the event by email, letter, phone call, push notification and other means. If it is difficult to inform individual data subjects one by one, we will make announcements in a reasonable and effective way. In addition, we will also report the handling of personal data security incidents in accordance with the requirements of regulatory authorities.
VIII.Your Choices & Controls
You have the right to access, correct and transfer your data, limit its processing, object to its processing, or withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing that was already performed on the basis of consent prior to its withdrawal (if the processing is consent-based).
Moreover, should you decide that our processing breaches the applicable data protection law, you have the right to submit a complaint to a data protection authority.
To protect the privacy and the security of your personal data, we may request data from you to enable us to confirm your identity and right to access such data, as well as to search for and provide you with the personal data we maintain.
IX.Third Party Tracking and Online Advertising
We use Google Analytics, Baidu Tongji and Sensors data to recognize you and link the devices you use when you visit EasyEDA.com, log in to your account on our service, or otherwise engage with us. They allows us to better understand how our users interact with our services and to tailor our advertisements and content to you. We use the Facebook pixel from Facebook Inc on our website. This allows user behavior to be tracked after they have been redirected to the provider's website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This enables us to measure the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes. The data collected in this way is anonymous to us, i.e. we do not see the personal data of individual users. However, this data is stored and processed by Facebook, which is why we are informing you, based on our knowledge of the situation. Facebook may link this data to your Facebook account and also use it for its own promotional purposes, in accordance with Facebook's Data Usage Policy.

X.Child's Privacy
Our products, websites and services are primarily aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from, or market to, children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age as specified by law in your jurisdiction(for example, 16 in the EU unless local laws specify otherwise). If you are below the minimum applicable age, please do not submit any personal data to us.
At present, we do not have an online identity verification system to confirm a parent or guardian’s identity. You should not register without having obtained prior consent from your parent or guardian.If we become aware that a child has registered with us or provided personal data without a required parental consent, we will delete that information as soon as reasonably practicable. Parents or guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child’s personal data at any time by contacting us as described in Chapter XIII “Contact Us”. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
XI.Retention
You may also cancel your EasyEDA account at any time by yourself via: EasyEDA website - User Center - Account - Advanced - Delete Account, or you can send an email to support@EasyEDA.com. When you submit account deletion, we take reasonable efforts to respond to your request. Once we have verified your user identity, we will delete your personal data from our systems timely. We will also delete personal data that relates to the in-app messaging function. Please note that messages sent to other users of our service are stored on their devices and cannot be deleted by us.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required under applicable laws and regulations. When the purpose for processing has been fulfilled, and no statutory retention periods or legitimate interests require further storage, we will securely delete or irreversibly anonymize the data without undue delay.
Examples of standard retention periods:
(1)Account information: retained while your account is active and for two (2) years after closure to allow for dispute resolution and regulatory checks.
(2)Transaction records (e.g., PCB orders, invoices): retained for six (6) years to comply with tax, accounting, and audit requirements.
(3)Customer support requests: retained for twenty-four (24) months after resolution to facilitate follow-up and service improvement.
(4)Marketing preferences: retained until you withdraw consent or opt out.
In certain circumstances, such as ongoing legal claims or investigation by competent authorities, we may retain personal data longer than the standard periods described above, strictly limited to what is necessary for such purposes.
XII.Changes to this Policy
We update this Policy in our discretion at any time by posting the amended version here or by providing such notice about or obtaining consent to changes as may be required by applicable law. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage users to frequently check this page (https://EasyEDA.com/page/privacy) for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal data we collect.
