BBS software strips underscore characters

Concise problem statement:

Pasting:

https://easyeda.com/cms_files_about-us.htm

into a post on the BBS pages (maybe other forum pages too?) strips '_' underscore characters.

Resulting url no longer work and in example above, 'files' is in italics.

Steps to reproduce bug:

  1. Paste url as copied straight from url bar;
  2. https://easyeda.com/cms_files_about-us.htm

Results:
Underscores removed.
URL broken.

Expected results:
url should appear as pasted

Url: n/a

Browser:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/30.0.1599.101 Safari/537.36

Using backticks preserves url format: that's how pasted at the top of the example was done.

Of course ....

There are two ways to represent italics in Markdown:

http://support.mashery.com/docs/customizing_your_portal/Markdown_Cheat_Sheet

  1. This should be in italics

  2. This should be in italics

Using (2) corrupts urls with underscores like this:

http://support.mashery.com/docs/customizing_your_portal/Markdown_Cheat_Sheet

so maybe option (2) should not be used.

Sorry, I forgot to put the Literals in the Markdown examples

  1. *This should be in italics* => This should be in italics
  2. _This should be in italics_ => This should be in italics
