Can I backorder a part at LCSC and have it sent to JLCPCB for assembly ?

There seems to have been a sudden run on part number C478453 so there aren't now enough in LCSC (30 there) or JLCPCB stock (2 there) to assemble my PCBs. Can I backorder them at LCSC but then have them sent to JLCPCB stock and then I'll submit my Gerbers ?

Hello JLCPCB assembly support only parts available at JLCPCB SMT Parts library and ordering external parts to be assembled at JLCPCB is not possible even if the parts are from LCSC. I suggest you to order the parts and get them soldered by yourself once you receive your PCB order.

I don't have facilities to do that myself. I'll have to use another Chinese PCBA location I'm afraid. I think you need to have a rethink on your stocking policies.

@MikeDB Dear Mike ; Our stocks are the main concern when it comes to SMT Assembly, that's why we don't stop improving it but I believe that you already know that in industry the improvments needs to be considered carefully. You can check the notice about the reload dates as it says : > **5.When the components will be restocked?** > Usually our purchasing department will have their own purchasing > plan, they will evaluate the purchase time based on the remaining > inventory. However, since the delivery date is unpredictable, we don't > know the specific arrival time either, but you can check it on the > website regularly. If you are in a hurry to place an order, it is > recommended that you first check whether the component is in stock or > not. the note may look not convinent for you, but we are truly improving the process and it is getting better. We are counting on your understanding ^_^

Where can I check the arrival time for restocking an out of stock component ? I've never noticed that before - would be very useful !

@MikeDB The date is unpredictable so it is not possible to get an information about the arrival date, in the notice it says "but you can check it on the website regularly" it refers to the part availability not the reload date. Dear Mike you can send an Email to [support@jlcpcb.com](mailto:support@jlcpcb.com) if you want to get further information about some specific parts. Thank you

@JLCPCBsupport, Sorry but it is not very helpful for the EE to have to email JLCPCB every time they want to check when a component will be back in stock. The expected restocking date should be made available as part of the JLCPCB parts search just as it is in places like Farnell or RS: ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/2G64TlTCutuA7b92201TfBZojXu5LrUos3WT9Lg3.png) ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/TRcQeKZPH09A7jVQkJiBEV5LQjQDVhRKkb9Wq40F.png) (I know these are leaded components but the example is for the restocking information not the type of part that it refers to . :)

I've just had an utterly useless reply back from JLCPCB user support, copied below, which seems to indicate they aren't prepared to do anything, and may never have the parts in stock again even though they are on their extended parts list. I get the impression the only parts you can rely on them stocking are resistors and capacitors which is surely no good to anybody. They even suggested I load the missing parts myself which I've no intention of doing - we do design, not assembly. So I'm going to have to change to another PCB house with a reliable assembly service. Does anybody have any recommendations, other than Seeed who have outrageous component price markups ?
"Hi Mike Bryant,Thank you for your email.Actually, for the parts C478453 & C55513 ,after checked that and we got them from LCSC **Shenzhen** warehouse.Although JLCPCB and LCSC are sister company but we are totally different companies. So we are also not sure when it will instock.Hope you can understand it . Is it possible for you to find a replacement ??Or is it possible for you to assemble them on your own?? Hope you can understand it .Thank you ."

might be worth talking to. Their pre-Brexit services were pretty good. May be way too expensive these days.

Anywhere not in China is usually horrendously priced. One UK place wanted £400 to put 6 LQFP-100s onto a PCB. And they take RS/Farnell component prices and add a percentage to them even though I bet they source most parts from China. Also the PCBs themselves are often poor quality. Even Raspberry Pi, who make a thing of having assembly in the UK, are now sourcing blank PCBs in China.

@andyfierman Thanks for your advice . Some functions of JLC page need to be optimized . Updates will be posted soon . Stay tuned !
