If they mean "brd, pcb or pcbdoc" then those are not Gerber formats. AFAIK, they are PCB design files from Eagle, some other package or Altium

Hi, thanks for the reply. I am aware of EasyEDA's in house PCB fab capabilities, but I also need the PCB assembled. There are SMD components that would be very difficult/time consuming for me to mount on my own. EasyEDA does offer an assembly service, but it seems like they have a ton of restrictions (they will only mount parts from lcsc, only smd devices, only one side of the board, etc.) I tried opening the Gerber file with online gerber viewers and I can't seem to open it either. Is the gerber file format output by EasyEDA proprietary?

If you unzip the downloaded archive then select and drag and drop all the files into their Gerber viewer then they display fine: 

I tried gerbv, but still could not open the gerber file. However, after some additional digging, I found the problem. When I export the gerber file from EasyEDA, it isn't being saved as a .zip file - its just a generic file with no extension. If I edit the name of the file and add the .zip extension then everything works fine. I can open the file with gerbv. I am not sure why EasyEDA isn't exporting the .zip file properly. Maybe a bug? I noticed that the same thing happens when I export a drawing using export->PDF. The file that is saved has no extension. I have to manually add ".pdf" to the file name, then I can open it. I believe I am having a similar problem with the pick and place file. It has no extension and the manufacturer cannot open it. I am not sure what extension it should have as this is my first time doing this. I will do more research... -Joe

Don't understand how that's happening. Are you sure this isn't just that your Windows config is setup to hide the file extensions? Can you post a screenshot of your downloaded file in a file manager along with some other files in the same folder?

Try updating Firefox? Try Chrome?

Interesting - EasyEDA seems to be outputting a .zip file now. I wonder if by manually changing it to a .zip file I got windows to associate that file type with a .zip...  I'm not sure, but it seems to be working now...
