Being a user of Through Hole components I find the "Commonly used Library" is cluttered with components I never use. How can I remove the SMD components from this library ?
Sorry but user editing of the Commonly Library is not supported.
A possible solution might be to place all the parts that you use frequently onto a schematic sheet.
Save it in a project then use it as a private library from which to copy and paste symbols into you projects.

I'm not sure but have a look to see if you can "Favorite" symbols in the "Commonly Library".
Then they appear in your Favorites page.
Still clunky but might be a little easier.
