I want to share my project but don't want other's to change my master copy. I this standard and if not how.

No one can change your project if you don't allow him to write.

When you make a project public then only you can edit any of the files in it. Others can view and copy. They cannot edit your files. If you share a project via Access Control **and** you give them Write access then they can edit any file in the shared project. Using the new Team function is similar.
