How Do I Create a New Project Based on the Current Project Allowing Advancements on New Without Affecting the Current??

I have a current project that works as intended.   I now need to add new features and remove features in a new design, but want to do so without affecting the current design.   Applies to both Schem Capture and PCB .

Seems simple enough.   I've tried copy paste of files, Cloning, and there's a 3rd in there.   Nothing works.   Either the PCB does not link to the schematic or the original is altered when the new design is moving forward.

What is the process/sequence to making a copy of both the schematic and PCB files, change the name, that will allow me to move forward with the new design without affecting the original?

Thanks,
DaveC

Hi Andy!   Thank you.   I'm pretty sure I tried that and found that the original design was affected by the revisions made to the new design.

I will try it again.   If you don't hear from me, then it's all ok.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Andy,

I created a new version and nothing happened.   Maybe it did and I didn't recognize it.  I did close the editor screen, selected "Change Version" from the pull-down, and it gave me a choice of versions to choose from.    If this is what you were talking about, then I've done this before.

Some clarification of my needs.   I would like this new version to be in its own separate directory folder - completely separate from the original/"master".   Maybe it's not a new version, but a copy.  I tried a copy/paste once before but could not get the pcb file to link to the schematic.   Maybe I did something wrong.

Thanks,
Dave

You can clone the project, or save as the SCH/PCB
create new version is working, any errors?

Hello!   I think I understood what you were saying up to "SCH/PCB".   But your 2nd line is confusing.   Could you restate?

Thanks,
Dave

I cloned the project and I think I managed to create a new/copied project.  I'll run some tests and verify the Sch and PCB are linked and changes made to this board don't affect the original.
Thanks,
Dave

@andyfierman sadly, that only works in the online version, not the offline Desktop application.

If using EasyEDA Desktop in Projects Offline run mode:

then do:

then copy and paste your project folder with a new name:
