Yes, the search tools in EasyEDA are really not very good. :( I have raised a feature request about them a long time ago but I think at least some of the problem is the limitations on using Google tools. I used to use the Google Site search to try to find stuff but Google has removed it.

Yes it is a bit random, isn't it :-)  I also wanted to use a STM32F103C8T6 module and there were about 30 iterations of that available !
