Low profile board-to-board connectors (2.54mm pitch), enabling removable Xiao and QT PY

Hello! What's the lowest low profile board-to-board removable connectors that could be used for boards with 2.54mm pitch 1x7 pins (max 5V 1A), like QT PY? Am making cheap unreliable (despite my best efforts) PCB boards with removable QT PY. Want QT PY to be salvaged/reused for other boards/projects. Soldering headers/pins/mezzanine-connectors for initial install is ok. But need to be able to remove/swap QT PY without (de)soldering. Will swap couple times a year, so connector doesn't need to be designed for daily/frequent use. Currently looking at: * jlcpcb/lcsc have 4\.68mm high "Swiss Pin" Circular Holes Female Headers https://lcsc\.com/product\-detail/Female\-Headers\_XFCN\-MF254V\-11\-03\-0743\_C2889985\.html but male circular pins are bulky\. * Adafruit have 5mm high Short Female Header [https://www.adafruit.com/product/4174](https://www.adafruit.com/product/4174) getting those if unable to source better option from jlcpcb/lcsc.  Would solder male pins to the QT PY, maybe removing plastic insulator sleeve to reduce height by ~2mm. * shurik179 shared link for 3.5mm on AliExpress, https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251800435894905.html. Currently digging around lcsc for similar that jlcpcb will assemble. 3.5mm high dupont header is starting to sound too short to be reliable though... * Flexypins allow board on board action, very low profile! But, they require more space under the board than I have available. Also I wouldn't trust them for more than just short term usage. Great for programming/testing, maybe devices in stable pampered environment. * Misusing Test Points https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Keystone-Electronics/5021?qs=fP5bVVCrK%2FeNcXCJeuA88Q%3D%3D to create spring socket https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYWGXLuyH4M&t=2682s for castellated boards. Is interesting but requires PCB design wizardry that I'm not ready to attempt. * Flip-Pins (DIP IC pins, can solder to PCBs) look interesting, but Duponts with short 5mm header would probably be smaller. Wondering if there's a 2.54 pitch SMD style mezzanine connector, or something similar for this situation? Please let me know if there's a better place/Forum for this type of question.  Cheers!

Not enough info about what you want to connect into the board. Please don't assume that everyone just knows the dimensions of whatever the pins are on whatever a QT PY might be. Would zero profile PCB sockets help? Try a Google search for:    spring contacts and look out for Harwin and Mill Max low or zero profile parts.

I think there may be some in the EasyEDA libraries but you might need to have found the original manufacturer's info via Farnell or RS first.

Also try googling: zero profile pcb socket
