I tried to make the parts window larger but when I grabbed the edge it would only go smaller. It wouldn't release the sizing bar and now it's completely minimized, how do I get it to expand back to the regular size?

Try dragging the bottom left (or right) hand corner until it is (a) lower down the screen and (b) overlapping the left (or right) hand panel then let go.
It appears to have resolved itself.

I tried everything under the sun to no avail. Perhaps it was my browser, Firefox. I'm just thankful it has seemed to fixed itself.
