I have been trying to help answer this post:
[https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/bc547-equivalent-3d3143a18cd6478fae13dc0b16ef1112](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/bc547-equivalent-3d3143a18cd6478fae13dc0b16ef1112)
where a user has a circuit with a through-hole BC547 transistor in it and they want to find a suitable SMT part that JLCPCB can supply.
To properly find an equivalent, the minimum parameters of (i) max collector voltage and (ii) max collector current **must** be available to search on.
Without that information it is just a guessing game or random searching.
It is impossible to find an equivalent in your parts list because the JLCPCB parts list:
[https://jlcpcb.com/parts/componentSearch?secondSortUuid=65bdd51e95f94772bab043e587d091aa&name=Transistors%20(NPN/PNP)&firstSortUuid=6cb8980d2f8d498ba2169b6aedbeaafc](https://jlcpcb.com/parts/componentSearch?secondSortUuid=65bdd51e95f94772bab043e587d091aa&name=Transistors%20%28NPN%2FPNP%29&firstSortUuid=6cb8980d2f8d498ba2169b6aedbeaafc)
is just a list of part numbers with minimal - or in many cases no - device specification information and no way to sort by parameters.
Searching for part in the LCSC.com is a lot easier because it does have at least voltage and current ratings to sort on.
Downloading the .xlsx list is no help because it has no more information than on the web page. The only thing it helps with is that it is faster to search for a part to see if it is in the list or not.
In some ways it is even less helpful because it is just one long list of all your parts. It could at least be split into separate sheets for different part categories.
To demonstrate my point, these are the minimal parameters of a BC547 from this datasheet:
[https://www.onsemi.com/pub/Collateral/BC550-D.pdf](https://www.onsemi.com/pub/Collateral/BC550-D.pdf)
Vcbo = 50V
Vceo = 45V
Icmax = 100mA
Searching the .xlsx list on 50V returns not a single transistor.
Searching the online list returns 1194 items with no way to sort the results.
Searching the .xlsx list on 45V returns not a single transistor.
Searching the online list returns 223 items with no way to sort the results.
Searching the .xlsx list on 100mA returns not a single transistor.
Searching the online list returns 761 items with no way to sort the results.
Searching online for transistor type NPN 100ma 50V is a little more helpful but it still returns over 100 items.
Worse still, these results are a mix of NPN and PNP transistors because many of the bipolar transistors appear to be listed like this:
TRANSISTORS (NPN/PNP) NPN ...
which is not helpful at all.
Why is the JLCPCB list not just the same list as LCSC.com but with an extra column saying "AVAILABLE FOR SMD ASSEMBLY AT JLCPCB."?
Then EasyEDA/LCSC/JLCPCB only has to maintain one, central list and users only have to go to one place that is already pretty well integrated with EasyEDA.
