Some misc questions

Hi Andy, 1) In both the schematic and the PCB editor, when I move symbols or parts, the wires/trace disconnect and rarely follow the parts.  Am I doing something wrong?  Is there a setting that I am missing? 2) When looking at net errors, the +3.3V keeps popping up.  Unfortunately, when I click it, it only goes to any +3.3V net, it does not go to the pad/wire location where the problem is.  With a large board, and +3.3V all over the place it can be tedious to find the problem.  Is there anyway I can fix this? 3) I have created two parts, it's simply a PCB solder short and open.  It is better than 0.1" header and jumpers in my application.   They are two hemispheres, and the "shorted" one has an additional copper shorting the two hemispheres.  This way I can place either a short or a open solder pad.  I solder the open to short, or cut the "copper" area to open a particular jumper.  Now, in the DRCs, the open obviously works fine, but the shorted one throws DRCs.  Is there any way I can disable DRC checking for the shorted version, or fix it in the part symbol or footprint?  Currently, all my DRCs are of this shorted jumper. Regards, Bob

@Bob11746, As described in: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a) answering these types of questions is much easier with at least some screenshots or better still a public project to play with to see the underlying causes... ...so here are some wild guesses. **Nets and routes disconnecting** Are you using the 'D' for 'Drag' shortcut key instead of Left-click-Select-and-drag? [https://docs.easyeda.com/en/Introduction/Basic-Skill/index.html](https://docs.easyeda.com/en/Introduction/Basic-Skill/index.html)<br> <br> **Net errors** What messages do you get in the Design Managers? Net label not connected to any pin warning? If your nets are disconnecting when you move symbols and Footprints then look closely for broken connections at pin and pad snap points. Also see my first reply in this topic: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Netlabel-Problem-9ef1e1c4e4864132ad9ba3fbb0cd0062](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Netlabel-Problem-9ef1e1c4e4864132ad9ba3fbb0cd0062)<br> <br> which demonstrates another situation that can cause this warning. **Solder jumpers** See: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Solder-jumper-and-net-names-81964e711915464aa2e0794266c16795](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Solder-jumper-and-net-names-81964e711915464aa2e0794266c16795)<br> <br> [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Net-tie-a-copper-only-component-with-2-pads-to-split-nets-without-DRC-errors-and-multiple-netname-warnings-b6a099bf01bb4055b821ab398ee37b60](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Net-tie-a-copper-only-component-with-2-pads-to-split-nets-without-DRC-errors-and-multiple-netname-warnings-b6a099bf01bb4055b821ab398ee37b60)<br> <br> and the Convert to PCB and Add into BOM symbol attributes. The Net-tie may be available in the upcoming Pro version.

@andyfierman Hi Andy, I'm sorry, I am not sure what "D" is supposed to do, but it does not drag with the traces following behind.  Instead it seems to just cleanly disconnect the part. Which leads me back to the "left click and drag" in schematic mode which sometimes drags wires but most times disconnects the other end of the wire.  The "D" will be useful, but not what I am looking for right now. The net errors.  It just shows up as a +3.3V net with the big X to the left.  Click on it and it goes through several of the +3.3V connections, but so far it has never brought me to the broken net.  To many +3.3V connections I suppose. It would be nice if in the symbol and/or footprint I could suppress DRC errors.  I read the post you linked to.  I see the point, but if somehow a suppression flag could be generated for the copper area in the middle that would fix everything. Sorry, I do not what to make my project public, but guess I could as you as a team member. Bob

@Bob11746, I wasn't suggesting that you use the D shortcut. I was asking if you were using that rather than the select and drag without disconnect left click tool. Dealing with net errors: see my reply to: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/HOW-TO-SEE-THE-ERRORS-3fb760fc16b047eebd8a9ac5086fe4b4](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/HOW-TO-SEE-THE-ERRORS-3fb760fc16b047eebd8a9ac5086fe4b4)<br> <br> You can add me as a team member or post some screenshots or an animated gif to illustrate the problem.

@Bob11746, BTW I didn't ask you to make your project public. I suggested that you make a public project that illustrates the issue. Not the same thing. :)

@Bob11746, A hint as to where to look would have been helpful but I have now captured one of your disconnecting pins. See Bug Report: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Pins-unexpectedly-disconnecting-in-Schematic-a2982626996449a89d297a4c8693092c](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Pins-unexpectedly-disconnecting-in-Schematic-a2982626996449a89d297a4c8693092c)<br> <br> * Please post the location of a similar instance of unexpected disconnection in one of your PCBs.

Andy, OK, it's a bug.  What about a node cleanup tool? Have you looked into my project regarding the jumpers?  You should be a member. Bob

@bob11746, . "What about a node cleanup tool?" Why? This behaviour is the result of a bug and therefore such a "tool" should not be necessary because this behaviour should never happen. It is the bug that needs to be fixed not a tool that needs to be created to work around it. BTW, You haven't yet pointed me to an example of a disconnecting net in the PCB. "Have you looked into my project regarding the jumpers?" No because everything that needs to be said about the problems of shorting two different nets together has already been described and possible solutions discussed in the links I posted in my first reply to your original post.

@bob11746, Have a look for the net-tie in the first release of the Pro version: [https://pro.easyeda.com/](https://pro.easyeda.com/)<br> <br> There are some solderable jumpers on the library.
