V-Cut Capabilities

Seems I occasionally get tripped-up panelization and v-cut. Are the capabilities for v-cut defined somewhere, especially as it relates to panelization? Min total board-size, and min size for each specific board (in the panel)? Are there different rules for when SMT assembly is involved?

More specifically, I want to panelize a series of small PCBs (very basic, no SMT) 6MM x 12.5MM, and a second 10MMX x 14MM I'm getting an email for a $15 surcharge (after I've placed the order): "PCB too small/difficulties for v-cut." I already know that v-cuts can be made 2MM apart (as is always done for the row/column spacing for other v-cuts). Why can normal v-cuts be made for (panelization row/column spacing) that is 2MM apart, but 6MM apart is "too difficult"? Follow-up: what then, is the most efficient method to get a large number of small boards this size? This seems like a normal use for a panelization.

Hello Yes it is already documented in the following link : [https://support.jlcpcb.com/article/49-pcb-panelization](https://support.jlcpcb.com/article/49-pcb-panelization) Please consider that for PCBA panels should be designed with mouse bites since V-cut is not supported for PCBA. Anything else just let us know.

Sorry, but which rule gives the minimum size (of each component within the panelization)? My panelized board is >70MM on each side (and under 100MM).

This is a panelized board JLCPCB has produced for me in the last year (v-cut with sides <15MM) with no problem and no $15 surcharge. ![IMG_1602.jpeg](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/uCXHFxdjmpZRbqhcRRjmZieDGON0gMe0YsGJxZf9.jpeg)

@bwinter Hello Please consider that the Minimum Panel size (overall size) for V-groves is 70x70mm and the minimum size for one single board of the Panel is 6x6mm Please keep in mind that any PCB size smaller than 15x15mm will be charged extra. More details about extra charges here : [https://support.jlcpcb.com/article/62-what-cases-will-be-charged-of-extra-cost](https://support.jlcpcb.com/article/62-what-cases-will-be-charged-of-extra-cost)

Best regards.
