One of the nice things that the Eagle layout software does is to provide a simple 3D view of the PCB. You can rotate the view and get a good idea of how the board is going to look when completed.
It is not meant to replace a more sophisticated 3D CAD system but rather gives a simple view of the board.
Is this something you folks have been considering and is it possible without making generating a library for a new part too complex?
