Hi,
I want to lay some wiring out on my board (see blow) and be able to copy chunks of it *before* connecting to the associated components. It's for capacitive touch sensors. The problem comes when I try to connect the wires. Would I be correct in thinking that this post essentially means "you can't"? Could a way be developed to override the logic that says "these are separate nets - you can't join them"?
I've encountered the same issue when doing more conventional wiring: I'll delete the bits I don't like, then try to reconstruct them better, but sometimes they won't join. Or if I try to construct one end of a trace starting at one component, then construct the other end starting from the other component. I'm sorry I'm a bit vague on these more conventional scenarios because it was a few weeks since I last came across it.
Thanks
Joining two nets with different names requires:

Trying to join a track starting at a pad on one component pin to another starting at a pad on a different component pin is an issue or net naming and is easily fixed by giving the two pads the same net name.
It sounds like you are laying out a PCB without first creating a schematic.
