Adding Test Pads to PCB

I want to add test pads (not thru hole pads) to my for a custom breakout board schematic but the only pads I see I am able to add are thru hole. Is there a way to add test pads to the schematic so that all my connections will transfer over to the PCB layout?

@cameron onan, You can create surface mount pads: ![image.png](// However, you need to create a dedicated PCB Footprint for a test point and then either create a dedicated Schematic Symbol for it or use any Schematic Symbol for a single pin connector and update the "Package" attribute of every instance of the symbol in the schematic to the name of the dedicated PCB Footprint (hint: do it for the first instance then copy and paste the others). To understand why this is, please see: [https://easyeda\.com/andyfierman/Essential\_checks\_before\_clicking\_the\_Convert\_Project\_to\_PCB\_Update\_PCB\_or\_Import\_Changes\_buttons\_\-7d2c6484b0c74aea930b1acf6459cd39]( part of: [https://easyeda\.com/andyfierman/Welcome\_to\_EasyEDA\-31e1288f882e49e582699b8eb7fe9b1f]( in particular the section on: **Why do Parts in a PCB disappear when the PCB is updated from the schematic?** Please also see: [](

Just in library search for "testpoint" and add it to your schematic, same like when you add components.

@kamalzakhoy, "Just in library search for "testpoint" and add it to your schematic..." but check that it has an appropriate footprint assigned to it. :)
