Basic: How to connect ground nodes to ground plane?

Hello, I have a ground plane in my PCB. So what makes sense to me is that every group of grounds close to each other will be connected together through short traces and have a Via connecting them to the ground plane. Is that correct? But what the autorouter does is connect ALL ground points together and have a Via every now and then. why does it do that?

The EasyEDA autorouter is not that clever. Hand route the short ground traces to the via. Autorouters, even very expensive ones, are not generally great respecters of Design for Signal and Power Integrity, or for EMC. If it matters, hand route it. An autorouter will mess it up.
