Board cutout not autorouting around cutout

Hi there, I am new to PCB design and I created a part for a specific neopixel I plan to use in my project that I could not find in the public libraries. This requires a rectangular cutout (or at least rounded rectangle) in the pcb. In the parts editor I created a multi-layer solid region and I changed the type to Board cutout. This seems to work until I autoroute the pcb. The traces go through the section designated as the board cutout, which obviously is not going to work. Please let me know if there is an alternative that will create a rectangular hole that will route the traces around it, or if there is a setting that I missed. Thank you for any help!
