Can I just use a user-contributed...'part' if I don't know how to make one? For example, the layout for Cherry MX Switches

Hi. I'm a complete beginner to EasyEDA. Context: I am currently, for fun and for the first time, trying to see if I can sort of recreate a 'keyboard/macro pad' pcb, using the Teensy 2.0++ for a Nintendo Switch game--something I saw someone on Youtube do. I don't know the hole spacing for the Teensy microcontroller (also, idk the correct terms for things so I apologise if I use a wrong one), and while I've tried to watch/read tutorials, making the layout/dimensions/??? for an MX Switch, it's a little confusing to me. So I searched for these parts in the library and found parts that are user-contributed. Can I just copy and paste/save and place the parts into my own PCB file? Do I need to give credit? Thanks for any help!! Oh, I'd also like to ask that I've found one person who created an M3 screw hole--if I were to copy and paste that into my own pcb, it should be fine/work fine? So sorry if this may not make sense btw, and also apologies if this is a silly question, I just want to be 100% sure!

Hi, for the most part, the User-contributed parts have been good. If the part looks like the one you have, it'll most likely fit. No need to reinvent the wheel if you've got one. The Teensy++ 2.0 has a standard 2.54mm pin pitch. If you're unsure if the footprint of the MX switch looks right, try printing your PCB out on paper, see if things line up. Here is a tutorial for home-made PCB's, all you need to know is how to export the PDF so you can print it 1:1. [https://docs.easyeda.com/en/Export/Export-PCB/index.html#Print-PCB-and-Etching](https://docs.easyeda.com/en/Export/Export-PCB/index.html#Print-PCB-and-Etching) > Can I just copy and paste/save and place the parts into my own PCB file? Do I need to give credit? Sure, that's why they are there, but be sure to double check user-contributed parts, because sometimes people also make mistakes. As for the credit, if you're going to make a video or something, yeah, don't forget to give back to the community as that's how open-source goes. Or add that into your projects description, but mostly, if the schematic is there, people can click on the part and see where it came from. > Oh, I'd also like to ask that I've found one person who created an M3 screw hole--if I were to copy and paste that into my own pcb, it should be fine/work fine? Well, if it says its an M3 hole, it most likely is. You can check its properties and by measuring it. First in the canvas attributes change the units to mm: ![1.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/MjemWKyHllFTqgLkha2ekGAsgz0CBhhHui6Ix8J9.png) In a PCB of mine, I have an M4 hole. That means its 4mm wide, so your M3 hole should be 3mm. ![2.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/F76kgFImfzudBUdJZn6GpTeyHrrF6KUc3LWAr2vN.png) Also see if there are any answers to your questions here: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a) And I also hope you're doing your project with  schematic first, then do the PCB, because that's going to help you save a lot of time and sanity later. Have fun!
