If you have N pads connected together then you have to delete the net names on at least N-1 pads to remove the whole ratline. It is safer however to remove all N then you do not have to remember that one of the pads still has the old netname assigned to it. If you have created your PCB from a schematic then just change the net in the schematic and then use the Update PCB... or Import Changes... buttons.
