I found out that Ialso need to remove the selction for the copper area! Problem closed.

Can you elaborate on this? I cannot select the copper area to delete it. I am switching to resistors with a larger footprint and the copper area is in the way.

@Zachrey Just press SHIFT+B to rebuild all copper areas or carefully hover over the dotted line of the copper area outline to highlight and then click on it to select it.

Thank you! That is what I finally figured out. I went to the outline of the board and zoomed in really good and selected the faint dotted line and hit delete. Whew! But the SHIFT-B trick sounds a lot easier tho. Will try that when the occasion arises.
