I hope everyone will forgive me, it is very likely this is a fairly basic problem caused by my profound ignorance. I am very much an amateur hobbyist and I have to admit I don't really know what I am doing. As a learning exercise, my first PCB was a simple voltage regulator to take an input from a 2.5mm connector and give a steady 5v to a breadboard. I did the schematic, then created a PCB design and everything went according to plan. My second project, the thing I actually want to make, is an alarm clock using an Arduino nano, a DS3231 RTC and an LED display. I have created the Schematic to match the prototype I have wired up and working on my breadboard and I created a PCB based on it. Unfortunately when I try to run tracks between the various components in the PCB designer, it won't let me connect them together, it puts a cross on the track and won't let me draw a track between the two pads I want to connect. What puzzles me is that it seems to have picked up from the schematic that the pads are supposed to be connected because they have a blue line connecting them. What am I missing or doing wrong?
