Capacitive Touch Pad

I'm trying to create a pad  with solder mask over it for a capacitive touch sensor. So far the only thing I've figured out to get the solder mask over the pad is to make the pad miniscule and surround it with a solid region on the same copper layer of the size I actually want. However when I try to put that on the pcb the drc keeps my traces from entering the solid copper region, meaning I can't connect to the pad. I've tried setting the pad and solid region to the same net in the PCB Lib, but no dice there. Anyone have a good suggestion of how to do this?

The solid region please change its layer to solder mask layer.

That does the opposite of what I am trying to do. I want to leave the solder mask over the pad, sort of like this: [https://www.adafruit.com/product/1374](https://www.adafruit.com/product/1374)

Only use the solid region instead of pad.

@Renkin42, As UserSupport says: Forget the pad, just place a Solid Region configured as Solid directly onto the PCB. Assign the net attribute to be the same as the net to which it is to be connected. This is easier if the schematic has manually assigned netlabels rather than leaving EasyEDA to autoassign them. An alternative is simply to use a short section of much wider track to create a roughly oval segment.
