Component values of parts placed
718 13

Yesterday I placed some SM resistor parts on the PCB board, either 1K or 10K. Today I could not remember so I tried to check. I guess I am to click on the part, then click on the Link shown in the window that comes up. It shows some other value like .24 ohms. Why? My other parts that I put on the PCB board have the same issue. Why does it not warn me of such changes? In my short time using EasyEda I would say it is odd in this regard. I am not sure I trust it or am I doing something wrong? I will try to post screen shots of an example and what I mean later...

@notsoeasy, Welcome to EasyEDA. Perhaps you have not yet found our Tutorial and other helpful information about how to use and get the best out of EasyEDA starting from here: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a)

If you would like to read the indformation in there and the linked documents and then post back with the link to a public project which demonstrates your issue then people may be able to offer some informed advice to help you.

@notsoeasy, There is no need to shout. Would you like to post the link to a public project which demonstrates your issue? Or add me to your team so I can help you?

@notsoeasy > I PUT ONLY 1K AND 10K RESISTORS IN MY DESIGN!!!!! ...AND AN R1210 !!!!! ![RESISTOR.jpg](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/suU4fpLKRJzf7p7b9TQpJKfuHeYncG5DL8PSrR1j.jpeg) I can only guess that 0.24Ω is the nearest value LCSC have to your specified 0.1210Ω

Thank you but... I only put 1K and 10K values into the system. I did this multiple times and none showed up correctly. Also I put in other components in which then showed up as others parts. I will test that again and get back to you.... It is frustrating when the software is quirky.

@notsoeasy, If you post the link to a public project which demonstrates your issue or add me to your team then I or others can help you seewhat the problem is very quickly. If not then you are pretty much on your own because others can only guess what may be happening to cause the behaviour you describe.

@andyfierman, @mrtom528, I just had time to replicate the issue. Thank you for your time so far. Later I will see if I can add people to my team. Anyway, here is the problem.... This is the screen shot of the part I am picking. C474295. It is a 10K. ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/9PLOpKIYhLsbe4ShGphU2pRlMlhJH6plEFtniVm1.png) This show what a c474295 is. It is a 10K. ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/F69bEyxkl7sEDClDNemlize3ToVjnp8qZVBpgaeQ.png) I placed it into my schematic as R9. It is supposed to be the c474295. Now then look at the link for it under attributes. It says something else. That is the problem. I have done this multiple times with different devices like capacitors and regulators. Try it yourself. This is why I do not trust the software. I put in a 10K, period. ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/nSZ8CfKXm7YpXlwreX4vaLKAZPuHKOA3wAMQyjRW.png) When you click on the link you have this, a 56K. I do not speak chinese that well but I do see it now as a 56K. Why does it change my part? Also, should I start to learn Chinese? Thanks in advance, Tom ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/0YAoNyJfC27U3ilXFB2JaIpCjXqN4TejqxOi3bFb.png)

@notsoeasy, You said: "I placed it into my **schematic** as R9." Your screenshot of R9 shows a Footprint in a PCB, not a Symbol in a schematic. Are you sure you do not mean: "I placed it into my **PCB** as R9."

@andyfierman, Right, I did mean to say I placed it into the PCB as you denote. I have worked on a test schematic too and that, so far, seems to check out but at the same time this PCB design should be trusted. If the PCB software side has issues then there is less trust in other areas of the software. Trust is paramount.

Did you create the PCB by first doing **Convert to PCB...** from your schematic and then add R9 to the PCB afterwards? If so, that breaks the Design Flow illustrated at the start of the Tutorial. In EasyEDA, the Schematic is the master document and any changes to parts in the PCB must be enacted by first changing the part in the Schematic and then pushing the changes through to the PCB from the schematic using Update PCB... or pulling them in to the PCB using Import Changes... It may help you to read (2.2) in (2) in: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a)

Andy, I did read the (2.2). I was struck my the title [Must read]. There is so much to read before using EasyEda and not everyone has enought time to know what to read let alone read it. It reminds me of when I lecture to my students, the more I talk the less they listen. And that goes back to the idea that the software (or anyting) should be intuitive. It saves time and grief. Also, I do have another newer design that starts with a schematic (with resistor values). When it converts over to the PCB the values are proper. Thanks so far for your time, Tom

Hi! I tried to add C474295 to my schematic but it says it is under design. So you can't directly use that part. So, only way is to use it with indirect methods. ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/48nrWuFNlu1SF1oFnsGirgxrPFS9cAH8ShYp5vLm.png) Regards, Markus Virtanen HW / Electronics Designer

@notsoeasy please don't place footprint in PCB directly, you need to draw the schematic first.

@notsoeasy, This (updated) topic may help you to understand some of the problems that creating and editing a PCB directly in the PCB Editor can lead to: [https://easyeda\.com/forum/topic/The\_best\_way\_to\_design\_a\_PCB\_in\_EasyEDA\-ThR3pwqIC](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/The_best_way_to_design_a_PCB_in_EasyEDA-ThR3pwqIC)
