When i search for a .001 uf capacitor, and can't get one, what I get is a 10uf through hole capacitor, when i am looking for a .001 uf smd capacitor. This has been going on in the last few days on a new board design. I can't get to the PCB until I get a schematic created. So I thought if I find any value of smd with the right footprint, i can place it and the n change the information on it. That might be a work around , but why do we have to have to use so many workarounds to get a good schematic?
The next potential problem is when I selected a LMC6482 , which is a duel rail to rail op-amp. It gives me one side of the chip, but I need the pad for the whole chip because I disable the second part of the chip, so it is there, ai just don't use it.
Next, I want to place a meter in the circuit, but maybe i don't. I will have to have the meter ,and put mounting holes on the board for the meter to be centered on the board which will mount behind the meter. So my guess is that I have to do that when I get to the PCB, and add the pads of the right size, and spacing. Am i tight?
Thanks for any guidance on these issues.
