So - targeting 4 layer board -- Out signal layers, in 2 are vcc and gnd. So, I declared them in them in the layer manager and defined them as 'vcc' and 'gnd' When I look at a component with vcc and gnd  nets,     I think I see the connection with thermals for the GND pins (through hole), on BOTH VCC and GND Has anyone else tried doing this. ?   or do you manually have to tie each pin in to the net.    It appears to me that it only supports a GND Plane,   NOT a vcc plane ?   Am I correct ?

Are you sure that you have correctly assigned the net name attributes of the two planes, one as GND and the other as VCC? One way to check what's via'ed to what is to run the Gerber generation and have a look at them using gerbv.
