Connect pad to pad function doesn´t work

Hello, I made a schematic of PCB but left some of the pads unwired as I wanted to route them later in the PCB mode (some of the components look different later in the PCB mode wich makes it hard to find and place all the resistors as I want). Now when I tried the "connect pad to pad" function it doesn´t work (for example any unassigned pin at SW1 to any unassigned pin at U1). It lets me to click on the first pin where I want the route to begin but as I click on the second pad where I want it to finish nothing happends. Any idea why? I don´t want to route it directly without that connection because my design is really big. Thanks, Petr. ![Snímek obrazovky (25).png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/iA2HFE3enVgj3SsFVhF3XxXrADWZei7nahCmlaE9.png)

Please do not make Footprint or connectivity changes directly in the PCB. Go back to your schematic,  add the new nets in there then do **Update PCB...** from the Schematic Editor or **Import Changes...** in the PCB Editor.

Thanks for suggestion but as I said I want to avoid that.. Of course I know that that´s the right way to do it but my question was why the function doesn´t work :)

If you have marked the unconnected pads in the Schematic with **Not Connected** (green X) symbols then you will have to remove them and do **Update PCB...** from the Schematic Editor or **Import Changes...** in the PCB Editor anyway.

Those pads are not marked so I don´t know where the problem is.![Snímek obrazovky (26).png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/OvhdTwz9jL3XD92q6eRUw2wMmUnWCBSiF4eLmzDs.png)

I suspect the problem is that you are trying to connect nets with different netnames together without changing the previously unconnected nets to the same netname as that to which you want to connect it to. Just manually rename the nets and then they will be connected. However if you then for any reason, do **Update PCB...** from the Schematic Editor or **Import Changes...** in the PCB Editor then your hand edited nets will be overwritten.

I see, that solved it, thanks :)
