You need to use EasyEDA editor to create some projects before publishing
Connect IC Pad on Top to GND on Bottom Copper Area

I have an SOIC20 IC (top layer) that needs to have pin 17 connected to the ground (bottom layer). The top layer has a +30V copper area and the bottom has a GND copper area. How is this done?! [The white pin needs to be connected to the GND copper area on the bottom.][1] [1]: /editor/20161018/58057c6444422.JPG

Make sure the Pads and copper area's net is the same AS GND , from your image, it seems the pad's net is not the same as copper ![enter image description here][1] [1]: /editor/20161018/58058feaed090.png

@Markturnbaugh, Welcome to EasyEDA. Make the Top Layer the active layer. Place a track on the top layer to the pad on pin 17 then click on the `Via` tool in the **PCB Tools** pallette. Place a via at the track end. Set the `Net` property of the Via to `GND`.
