Copper Area

I have tried to make a filled copper area. I see the dashed outline but the area does not fill even though I have selected "Solid" for the Fill Style property. I also checked the Gerber file and it is not showing a solid copper area. Is there something else I need to do?

Hi lenhalio, Welcome to EasyEDA. I suspect that you may have missed this step: >Click the button **Rebuild CopperArea** to rebuild the flood. as described in: <https://easyeda.com/Doc/Tutorial/PCB.htm#CopperArea> Let us know how you get on. :)

Please make sure the copper Area options. 1. has a net 2. has boardoutlines and these boardoutlines are connected each other to a closed graph. ![Alt text](/edaImg/cms/1416791884_COPPER.png)

Hi....I did press the rebuild copper area button. After doing so, I get a white line going from one corner of the board to the far corner of the canvas and after a moment, it disappears....but the area does not fill. I also closely checked to make sure that the area if fully closed and it appears that it is. I've tried it on the top layer and bottom layer with the same results. I am using an Apple iMac running 10.10.1 and Safari if that is of any help. Regards, Len

Hi, So I am sure your boardoutline are not closed when you get a `white line` , you can try to adjust some lines to more closest, even overlap. You can check the coordinate like bellow image. If you can't fix this, you can make you just boardoutline PCB public, we will find the problem in a few seconds. ![Alt text](/edaImg/cms/1416802068_COPPER.png )

Can you post a public version of your PCB (or part of it) that demonstrates this problem?

I had been checking the copper area to make sure it was ok but had not checked the PCB outline. I did so, fixed the issues and it now appears to work. I put a copper area on the bottom layer and it worked fine. The area on the top layer still did not fill as expected but I was able to use the solid area tool. Not sure why the bottom layer works and the top layer does not but I am now able to proceed with my design. Thank you. Len
