Copying an existing board shape

Hi All. I was wondering if anyone could point me to resources on copying an existing board shape with mounting holes, etc. Scanning the existing components isn't necessary. Reproducing the board shape with exactness IS important. Thank you!

hi you can save as a new PCB, and delete the useless objects

@chriswilliambowen, @UserSupport, * This is a question about how to accurately reproduce an existing PCB design that is not already in EasyEDA or in an importable EDA tool format. It is not practical to do this from an image or scan. For more information about the practicalities of reproducing PCBs without the original dimensional drawings, please read: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Using-a-jpeg-image-to-create-a-PCB-d6bbca9bf9ed4a1899e29f73e5a97db2](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Using-a-jpeg-image-to-create-a-PCB-d6bbca9bf9ed4a1899e29f73e5a97db2) You need to somehow obtain the critical dimensions and enter them into your PCB layout in terms of hole locations, diameters and board outline. If you can create the board outline information and hole locations as a DXF file then make 2 copies: one with just the board outline and another with just the hole locations (or leave the board outline in) then: 1. you can import the outline only DXF into the EasyEDA **Board Outline** layer; 2. you can import the hole positions only(and board outline if you wish) DXF into the **Document** layer and use that as the hole location guide. You _can_ create the rest of your PCB directly in the PCB editor but if your PCB is any more complex than a few through hole components and wires then we do **not** recommend this approach for reasons that are explained in (2.2), (4) and (6) in: [https://easyeda\.com/andyfierman/Welcome\_to\_EasyEDA\-31e1288f882e49e582699b8eb7fe9b1f](https://easyeda.com/andyfierman/Welcome_to_EasyEDA-31e1288f882e49e582699b8eb7fe9b1f) and follow the Design Flow in the main Tutorial. Recommend that you read all of the above link before starting to avoid strife later. :)
