I want to create a new component - schematic and footprint. It is very similar to an existing one, and would only need a few small changes. Is this possible or must I make a new one from scratch?
If it's from the EElib (new renamed as Commonly Used Library) then double click on it in the left hand panel, edit it and save it with a unique name and a Description.
If it's in the Library tool then find the one you wish to edit, select it then double click on the Symbol to open it for editing then save it with a unique name and a Description.
Do the same to edit the Footprint.
