Create bare spot

Hi, Is there any way to create a solid region in which there will be no green coating or copper, just the bare PCB material? I am trying to create something similar to this: [http://i.imgur.com/ay282Df.png][1] In the red circled area, the area surrounding the screw hole is bare. Is there a way to create a solid region like this? Thanks. [1]: http://i.imgur.com/ay282Df.png

Hi Arkazex, Welcome to EasyEDA. Hmmm. Good question! :) It can be done but - unless someone else knows of a better way? - it is fiddly. 1) Set up your PCB layers to include the Top and Bottom Solder Mask Layers: ![enter image description here][1] 2) Draw a Solid Region as close to a circle as you can make it and define it to be a `Cutout`: ![enter image description here][2] 3) Copy and paste it so it is co-located on the Top Layer, Bottom Layer, Top Solder layer and Bottom Solder Layer: ![enter image description here][3] [1]: /editor/20161223/585c22c2ca9be.png [2]: /editor/20161223/585c22811dacc.png [3]: /editor/20161223/585c2372d7166.png

I also need to do what the OP said - i.e. **I need to create a circle of bare PCB material**. Is there any update to this now that we are two years on?

@patrickfelstead , I haven't got access to a pc at present  so I can't check this but one of the recent updates allows you to convert a track to a Solid Region. Then you can convert that to a "No Solid". The bit I am not certain about is if you can also do this for a top or bottom layer pad. I think you can also make another pad with a slightly larger diameter than the original pad and the reassigned it to the Solder Mask layer. Always check the result in the Gerbers using gerbv.

Sorry I missed your reply. I'm not sure how converting a track will achieve what I want, which is a bare pad. I emailed JLCPCB for help (I know they're not support for EDA but thought they might know). Here's their reply: Hi Patrick, You can define those holes as NPTH and expose them in the solder mask layer. Normmaly the final performance will like your picture shown.

I thought you wanted an area of PCB material with no copper and no solder mask on it, not a hole right through the board? NPTH will create a hole through the PCB.
