Cutouts That Show in 3D View are Not Showing Up in Gerber Files Uploaded to JLCPCB

I am trying to design a PCB with an odd shaped cutout in the center. I am using the 'Solid Region' tool, and I switched the 'Attributes' to 'Board Cutout' and 'Multi-Layer'. When I select the 3D view, the cutout shows up nicely. However, after downloading the Production files and uploading to JLCPCB the cutout is not present anymore. I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks much in advance!

Suggest that you Check your Gerbers using gerbv as advised in the Tutorial.

I checked them with another Gerber viewer. The cutout shows up. Just not in JLCPCB...so the question is: Is their Gerber viewer flawed, and the boards will have the cutout, or does their system need a different way to specify cutouts?

"... Is their Gerber viewer flawed..." Let's say that it needs work. :) If gerbv shows the Gerbers looking ok then the PCB will be ok.

That is reassuring...;-) Thanks! Do you know how to get a cutout through plated (i.e. give it a metallized border conected to GND for making contact with a GND terminal or similar?

Please use Solid Region - Board Cutout type.

@UserSupport , Surely a Solid Region set to Board Cutout will only be through plated where there are tracks or pads overlapping the edge of the hole defined by the region? For example this Footprint is made up from two pads and a solid region set to board cut out: EXPERIMENTAL\_INBOARD\_1206\_LED ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/NFAqRsSOrdawrhlTPh5Coyi7efUv83RdJ4I16cdi.png) Are the through plated areas defined only to be where the pads are not cut away by the Solid Region?
