Hi
I think this was tried as an attribute hack once before and then removed.
I like EasyEDA very much but the one feature that could draw me away to a different platform is the lack of ability to handle variants.
I think it needs to be kept basic, so a single PCB design that can be populated according to a variant design profile.
To keep it simple components are either placed or not placed. No different values.
The schematic editor:
1. should have a variant drop down box to choose which variant design is visible
2. not placed components for the selected variant should have a cross through them
3. a configuration window to add variant profiles
4. for simplicity a default profile exists that places all components
5. components need an attribute to select what variant(s) they are included in
6. when you create a BOM it should only include the components in the currently selected Variant
7. when you export the BOM it should include the Variant name in the file name
PCB editor:
1. when generating a Pick and Place file it should ask what Variant to use
2. when you export the Pick and Place file it should include the Variant name in the file name
