Specifically it closes even if the file hasn't been saved !! I'm sure it's available somewhere as a background backup but a Windows program should never close until the user has selected Save or Don't Save.
I just leave it on my PC and not touch the PC. After about 30 to 60 minutes the Desktop Client has closed. I only have one PC here so can't check if another does the same.
what running mode of your desktop client is ? what the recovery backup setting is？I will have a try
