if you hold down the mouse wheel and drag you can move the canvas view and it works.
if you hold down the right mouse button and drag, you can also move the canvas view, only if you let go of the mouse outside of the canvas panel it fails to drop the move canvas action and your stuck with the canvas following the mouse.
