We have API to do this. Maybe we need to provide a prefence, lots of others like visible, me Too. a 6 years EE.

@Liammcgillivray32, In a simple circuit where maybe no two components have the same value it is easy to identify a component by referring to its' value. In more complex designs component prefixes (reference designators or refdes) are essential to avoid lengthy descriptions such as `the 10k resistor at the junction of the 1uF capacitor to ground at the non-inverting input of the second opamp in the doohickey stage`. Try describing the location of some of the parts in some of our effects projects such as: https://easyeda.com/example/Origami_a_collection_of_guitar_effects_-JFa4mEWe8 and; https://easyeda.com/example/Tesseract_Guitar_Practice_Amp-MjP71jBni without using their prefixes! Even if no-one else but you are going to need to read the schematic, it is a good idea to have the prefixes visible because when you come back to the diagram in 10 years time, you will have forgotten where each part is, which one is which on the PCB and how they relate to each other. You also need the prefixes to make sense of the BoM and to help during PCB assembly and debugging. There is a case for hiding all the *values*, usually because the schematic is to be given to an end customer to help in first level fault diagnosis but you don't want to give too much info away. :)
