First PCB - will it work?

Hi all, I'm new to the scene and would love to get your advice. My plan is to design a PCB for temperature measuring with an ESP32. The ESP32 will be programed via an external programer connected to the Pin-Headers. I created that schematic: ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/fDFW9PgGv1RXGfUaAJHQsiDXhJUaqpuHDBOAXIl9.png) Afterwards I designed the PCB: ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/yYKc3SJUBBArWZbLpfrFzFvdyShy9HipLYkaUNLE.png) And now my question: I would like to know if this will work nefore I order the PCB and required parts. Could you please have a look and check if that makes sense or not? I couldn't find the possibility to upload files... I'm very thankful for every feedback :D. Kind regards, Dennis

Hi Welcome to EasyEDA. If you would like someone to check your project before you submit it for manufacture then there are two things to need to do first. 1) Go through the checklists (4) and (6) in (2) in: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a) 2) Make your project public so that people can see in detail what you have done rather than look at pictures of the schematic and the PCB. [https://u.easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-make-a-Project-public-and-share-the-links-to-it-9f006513b84b412580910905b0281d20](https://u.easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-make-a-Project-public-and-share-the-links-to-it-9f006513b84b412580910905b0281d20)

For example you have a Copper are on the top layer but there is no way to tell what net it is connected to or if it set to invisible. You have also not said if the ESP32 is supposed to provide wireless connectivity. If it is then you must read and follow the guidelines in the datasheet for antenna location. Hi @andyfierman, many, many thanks for your reply. I had a look at every link you sent and went through the checklist :-). That's why I redesigned the PCB after reading the design guideline from Espressif (no connections under the Wifi antenna, wider lines for power). As you suggested, I published my project: [https://oshwlab.com/dennismoebus/temperaturmodul-ext-uart](https://oshwlab.com/dennismoebus/temperaturmodul-ext-uart) I would be very happy if you or anyone else could have a look over the schematic and PCB design. Kind regards, Dennis

@dennismoebus, But you still have a solid area of ground plane directly under the ESP32-WROOM antenna: ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/ADnpFYKLWrsztqTVQqiLctdgQrmIVtD4jfGgZ8Xs.png)

Hi! I think I have time to check the validity of this design and make some improvements if needed. I'll clone this project that I can play around with it a bit more... Regards, Markus Virtanen HW / Electronics Designer

Hello! [https://oshwlab.com/markus_jidoka/temperaturmodul-ext-uart](https://oshwlab.com/markus_jidoka/temperaturmodul-ext-uart)

I had the time to "redo" this project and check the functionality. I added: \- 200ohm to USB data \- and \+ \- 100uF tank electrolytic capacitor \- 1A fuse \- Corrected and replaced the proper \(basic\) bypass capacitors to the 5V and 3V3 line @dennismoebus please clone this project back to yourself :-) Regards, Markus Virtanen HW / Electronics Designer
