Welcome to the real world, where standards are made up and nothing really matters :D  It should be as you have said previously, but I tried to find the same component as you had, but were successful with a correct footprint? Is this the same component? Also checks out in EDA:       --- So I'm a bit baffled about how this came to be. But keep in mind that there are LED's out there the other way around. I have a few from somewhere, I don't know where, but there are LED's with anode flat and round cathode. That's why you really need to have these things checked before.

I stand corrected on this point. I must have selected imported the part and changed the footprint. But the footprint and pin numbers didn't line up. I was able to swap the pin numbers, and everything looks correct now. Misunderstanding on my part where things interact with one another. I also didn't think I could edit that and it was save, guess I can.
