Just 3D model preview, 3D file export feature is not start yet, it will be supported next few release later. Just support to import 3D model file, without 3D file design. such as: Kicad wrl, step, obj. ![图片.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/GiZNeqMXkWbZAfmyRMfgYllkSNnp2RCrsOR3kIll.png) Update: EasyEDA support 3D model view now: [How to import 3D library/model to EasyEDA and preview 3D models](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-import-3D-library-model-to-EasyEDA-and-preview-3D-models-7255da34199845ef8821fe9b05480ffe) 3D model export will be support in the future.

great. if can insert a clear image to pcb layout, i think this soft so very very great
Reply
cjohnson 4 years ago
@phamduyscb You can already do that, File -> Import -> Image

Awesome. It can really help to see the assembled view in 3D for height clearances.  Hard to know those things without looking at the datasheet for every single component and that gets really old really quick living the life of a datasheet reader than a designer. :)

@phamduyscb What exactly are you trying to do? The import tool works great for importing images to a PCB. ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/uf1KauCWi2MFDOiSKUsCCpacTJj4qepFZM1A0VPx.png) ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/cCINxsq91gmUy45FeQExVss463uzAf5fd0e79ubZ.png)

@pharmduyscb Yes, but you need to separate the silk screen part of the image from the traces them import them separately and put them on their respective layers.

@daniel.paradinha I created a separate thread to show him this: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Insert-PCB-as-Image-to-PCB-b26e11571c184ced9e5865e716fbc660](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Insert-PCB-as-Image-to-PCB-b26e11571c184ced9e5865e716fbc660)

UserSupport 4 years ago
@neutronstriker the alpha version witch 3D model at v6.2 doesn't support this option, it will be supported at 6.3 or 6.4

@UserSupport When I press export svg or easyeda file support I get a pop up saying copy the code in the box, but no code is showing
Reply
UserSupport 4 years ago
@MarcC137 That export option is a bug, it should be removed. we will support export 3D model in the future.

@UserSupport Have you got a release date for the betaversion? I could really use the 3D model TODAY... For doing a thermal analysis of my board design.

@UserSupport I'm going to second the desperate need for 3d model export. It really makes designing a product integrated PCB a massive pain.

@lyseoy @ridicrobots Hi 3d model exporting is under developing, we are develop a new canvas engine for the PCB, it is more important, more smooth, when we ready, we will keep going to develop 3D model exporting, we don't know the timeline too. Thanks.

I want to report issue when using elements from LCSC and 3d models from [https://www.3dcontentcentral.com](https://www.3dcontentcentral.com/) - regarding their positioning. For example: \* LCSC Supplier part: C92220 * [https://www.3dcontentcentral.com/secure/download-model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=294126](https://www.3dcontentcentral.com/secure/download-model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=294126) 3d model. I've imported 3d PCB lib. `ISSUE1` 1 Screenshot.  In order for item to be positioned properly on PCB 3d view, you should try to guess it's location. Expected - 2d view item should match X and Y position, so you can put part exactly in center of it's 2d position. `ISSUE2`: If you have few simillar components - it should be possible to copy relative locations so it would match another parts. ![position.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/PRGdYamQ2cQn0IZC28PPISJva7SKNEbBJtizymhw.png) ![3d location.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/MSLgULa85WAB1FbXFlhhmdfKnyyvmfR4AoH3Eo8Y.png) Thank you.

Does anybody create a custom 3d model for his own component? What's can be used to create quick very simple model, just like a small box with pins to imagine how many place it will fill in the device's box? Could you please advice, what tool can be useful? Quick, simple, maybe online? Thank you.

@vlsextx Fusion360 would do a trick. Or grab plenty of components from `grabcad` site, import them into fusion360.

Do I need to configure anything special to get the 3d export at scale? Its exporting with huge differences...
Reply
UserSupport 3 years ago
@rechena Export the 3D model in 0.01 inch. If your scene size is in mm, then scale the model by 0.254 times

@UserSupport Hello,  what about to export as a STEP file ? Is it now possible ? Thanks in advance.
