Help: component autoplacement into PCB

I am very beginning to use the very rich EasyEDA. I started using it for a public, simple electronic circuit. First I drew the electronic circuit: everything is fine. I had the PCB generated, then I started placing the components by hand; in the PCB I cannot distinguish left-right and top-bottom of each component. So I thought about using the "Component autoplacement into PCB" I need to place only two components (JP1 and JP2); all the others can be positioned by EasyEDA in an optimal way to optimize the PCB. On the website "[https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Component-autoplacement-into-PCB-3f0f310db0d74a9bbf848953c4c8048d](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Component-autoplacement-into-PCB-3f0f310db0d74a9bbf848953c4c8048d)" I read about the "Component autoplacement into PCB". I used "CTRL + SHIFT + X", but ... nothing happens! Obviously I did something wrong, but I don't know what. I can't go on: I need help! Thank you, Dario![s88_PCB, solo PCB.jpg](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/JgNDjUzXgwLFgqthNPCe421I7nPd0uXA7PtTKSJk.jpeg)![s88_PCB, SCHEMA MONTAGGIO.jpg](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/dcFS2jyxMILaw7hIzfdM9pkXDhWZpRSdiaoLW3n9.jpeg)

Please follow the instructions given in: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Component-autoplacement-into-PCB-3f0f310db0d74a9bbf848953c4c8048d](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Component-autoplacement-into-PCB-3f0f310db0d74a9bbf848953c4c8048d)

carefully: 1. Create the schematic; 2. Save the Schematic; 3. Do all the Essential Checks; 4. Do **Convert to PCB...**; 5. Save the PCB; 6. Select a bunch of symbols in the schematic; 7. Do **CTRL+SHIFT+X**; 8. The view will switch to the PCB and the footprints assigned to the selected symbols will highlight, then, as soon as you move the mouse, will distribute the footprints as they are in the schematic and then drag around with the mouse until you click to place them as a block.

Following the instructions, the PCB is changed: OK. Small problem (maybe my mistake): in the PCB I defined the dimensions of the board, obtained from the original board, with a little more size. The components are moved, but they take up much larger space than the board. It would be easy to place each component within the board; is there any way to do it automatically? If I haven't been clear, here I am. Always thanks, Dario

"The components are moved, but they take up much larger space than the board. " I am guessing that your statement refers to the situation where: 1. You do SHIFT+CTRL+X; 2. The components are moved in the PCB to the same relative positions as they are in the schematic **but**; 3. They are too widely spaced apart to fit inside the Board Outline **so**; 4. You need to manually position them inside the Board Outline. "It would be easy to place each component within the board; is there any way to do it automatically?" Sorry: no. Please post screenshots or the url to a public project to illustrate the issue. It will help everyone to understand what you mean. :)

Thank you very much indeed. In "Schematic Capture" , just now, I posted screenshot of my PCB and the link to the public project I used to start. Please, write me if I managed to write well, what was requested. Thank you again, Dario

The link to the original project that you are trying to copy is useful but I am asking you to post a link to your project on EasyEDA. To do this you will have to read and follow the instructions in this topic: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-make-a-Project-public-and-share-the-links-to-it-9f006513b84b412580910905b0281d20](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-make-a-Project-public-and-share-the-links-to-it-9f006513b84b412580910905b0281d20)

Also, please do not start new topics on the same question. Please keep everything in the same topic.
