How do I cross wires so they don't connect on a schematic ?

I'm finding that the parts I am connecting have wires that have to cross each other and not make a connection, is there a way to break the connection that the wire placement makes, even when I don't stop on the wire, I keep going past it? I looked at all different possibilities, but I am at a loss of how to continue until I get this problem solved. Thanks for any help on this.

I wish it went like that, I will try again, you only mention the W key because it brings up the wire, it does not cause it to skip over wires. I did what you suggested, click start, bring the wire across other wires and attach to another point. The problem is that it attaches to what I pass over, So I tried to bring up the net connection to see if there was a way to break it, and had no luck there. I have two or three places where i will have to skip over wires.  I will try again by deleting the wires and starting over.  Thanks

Just as before, I deleted both wires, and attached one, then I started a new wire, crossed the point I did not wan to attach, and attached it to where it goes, when ia let go of the wire, it connected the point I wanted to skip. I know this because there was a dot on the connection, I did not stop on that point, but it attached anyway .  What do you think is going on?

Please post an animated gif screencast like mine to show what happens when you connect and draw your wires. Try starting a new blank and simple demo schematic to see how it should all work.

I thought I fixed it, but when I get done, and I click on each wire, I see a dot on the connection I don't want, on both wires.

"How do I create a video of my  board?" Sorry but I'm not familiar with the tools you'll need for Windows but I'm sure Google knows. I haven't found a good screencast to animated GIFs package for Linux so I installed a screencast recorder (Kazam) then recorded the video you see above and then uploaded the video to: [https://ezgif.com/video-to-gif](https://ezgif.com/video-to-gif) to convert the mp4 video to animated GIFs. Then downloaded the animated gif file and pasted that into my forum post. I tried the dedicated screen recorder to animated GIFs package, Peek but it didn't work for me on Linux mint 18.2.

Have you tried my suggestion of starting with an empty schematic and just creating a simple one to learn to use the various schematic tools rather than struggling with something you have already got in a tangle with?

Yes, and I did realize that certain relative distances between parts can be problematic when trying to avoid  wiring connections. I found that if i moved things and routed my wires a different way, I could avoid the wire connections i didn't want. So maybe you could look at my current complaint about not finding parts like i use to. I have been not finding certain resistors,  and capacitors, so i had to copy them from older projects. My current part problem that i have not figured out has to do with a whole new part, where the one i found is not labeled the way it should be , so I had to try and edit it, but the part left some pins off, and I'm sure I have to get into a deeper level of editing.  I don't see any way to do that yet, and the parts library has been very helpful as it was in previous projects. It almost looks like someone turned my ability to find parts off.  Just when I realized I have to examine everything that comes out of the library for mistakes, like i did on my first batch of boards where the transformer I found was user created ,and had no  solder pads or holes, just dots where the pin would go. That cost me an entire order of 200 boards to go in the trash.  So live and learn, if I have too many more problems with EasyEDA, i will have to find some better software somewhere else to create my gerber files.  Then I will search for the board maker by price and shipping instead of what JLCPCB gives me.  There has to be a way to fully edit a part, and only keep the foot print the same.

My current problem is in finding a part in surface mount that will be correct.  Here is the picture of what I found, and it is a big problem for me if I can't get the part number from Digikey, or Mouser and use it, or edit a fresh part in the way it should be.   Here is what I have and it is all wrong due to the way the surface part was in the library.  The part number is supposed to be [771-74HCT4046AD-T](https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Nexperia/74HCT4046AD118?qs=sGAEpiMZZMuVnCuI0aQamNA0WbGoTWKBjJewI67pZTc%3d "Click to view additional information on this product.")   Moser, but to shorten it [74HCT4046](https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Nexperia/74HCT4046AD118?qs=sGAEpiMZZMuVnCuI0aQamNA0WbGoTWKBjJewI67pZTc%3d "Click to view additional information on this product.") ![4046PW.gif](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/09jOnt4Zd18qsCO0ETmS48kI9iNsjVRzwGgbohl6.gif)

@joe.massimino, My concern, based on your original post in this thread is to try to understand why you have been having problems routing wires so that they cross others to see if there is a problem with the Schematic Editor or if there some better guidance needed about how to use the wiring tool. You have raised your entirely separate question about library parts in two other threads and will be addressed, just not in this thread.

@andyfierman I followed this thread that Joseph started because I am having the same issue with wires crossing and automatically getting pinned at the intersection. I have tried running the wire in both directions, and always end up with a pinned intersection, which I don't want. If I click on the pin, I see a dialogue box to the right that gives the coordinates of the intersection. It would be highly intuitive if, in this dialogue box, I could remove the pin and thus illustrate that there is no connection at the crossing point. I am unable at this point to remove the pinned intersection. Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

@andyfierman,you need to know this is my first attempt at EDA. I may not have an understanding of how to draw wires regarding methods. There must be some way we indicate when we want a connection to occur, and when not to connect. I'm not understanding that.

@kgarvey, You are making a number of mistakes in how you place schematic symbols and then try to wire them together. Do not overlap the pin on one symbol with the pin of another. The software really needs a way to illustrate a bend or curve in the lines of non contacting leads.  The very nature of the software is designed to make circuit construction easier.  Contact tracing is essentially impossible for complex circuits as line crossing shows as apparent at each junction (or non-junction).  Please consider this a necessary improvement. Thanks!

Whilst I thoroughly recommend using netlabels and netflags to indicate connections in a schematic, there are some points worth considering. 1. I prefer to use **netlabels** to connect nets **within** a schematic sheet;  2. then use **netflags** to show connections **between** schematic sheets;  3. I think there is a happy medium for a schematic between using wires and netnames.
